What we check before a tile job

• Structural load — tile weighs several times what shingles weigh. Framing has to take it.
• Color and profile match on repairs, especially in Ponte Vedra and Nocatee HOAs.
• Membrane — felt or peel-and-stick underlayment with extra protection in valleys.
• Batten ventilation — an air gap that matters in Florida heat.

Cracked barrels, slipped tiles after wind, and failed underlayment with tiles still looking fine from the street are the usual calls. We repair when a repair will last, and we replace when the membrane is the real failure.
